The concept of parents telling their children that it’s their life and they can do whatever they want has entered India through the Western and European gates, but these are mere words. In reality, maximum parents do not mean it. Yes, children are more free today as compared to old times, but freedom is only in terms of roaming around with friends, choosing what and what not to wear, pursuing the career they wish to, etc. The above mentioned examples are just one kind of freedom, and not freedom to live life in their own way. Freedom to think, express, and act solely according to what a person wants, has not yet hit Indian soil!
As a teen, I’m still waiting for it…!
